The Keep Calm and Carry On, designer rug reflects the original design of the poster produced by the Ministry of Information in 1939. The poster was intended to be distributed in the event of an invasion during World War II to strengthen morale, thankfully it was never released, although two and half million copies were produced and subsequently destroyed.

The poster was the third in a series of three, the first and second that were used displayed the slogans - "Your Courage, Your Cheerfulness, Your Resolution Will Bring Us Victory" and "Freedom is in Peril" the slogans although devised by civil servants were intended to deliver the message from the King to help keep morale high during World War II.

Now with advent of both a Royal Wedding and the 2012 Olympic Games patriotism couldn't be higher the Keep Calm and Carry On designer rug has been released alongside the Union Jack mat to reflect our national pride and help celebrate both these great events.
